"So You Think You Can Dance" celebrated its 100th episode Thursday, but judge/producer Nigel Lythgoe said the party was ruined when viewers' votes sent front-runner Janette Manrara home.
Jason Glover was also eliminated on the show, which featured a song and dance performance by Katie Holmes.
Jason's elimination was less of a surprise than Janette's. Thursday was Janette's first time among the show's lowest vote-getters. On Wednesday's performance show, choreographer Mia Michaels called Janette her favorite dancer.
Other dancers in danger on Wednesday's show were Kayla Radomski and Brandon Bryant.
To celebrate the 100th episode, Thursday's show included appearances by former "SYTYCD" contestants, as well as a performance by Katie Holmes. In a tribute to Judy Garland, Holmes sang and danced to "Get Happy." Her appearance was designed to draw attention to Lythgoe's Dizzy Feet Foundation, which provides arts scholarships.
"So You Think You Can Dance" is now down to six contestants.
