The Muscogee County School Board will hold a called meeting at noon on Monday, July 27 in the board room of the old Bradley Library on Bradley Drive.
During the meeting, the board will discuss amending the district's calendar for 2009-2010 and go into a closed session to discuss a legal matter.
The 33,000-student school system is looking at more ways to cut the budget after Gov. Sonny Perdue asked school districts and other agencies across the state to furlough employees for three days before the end of the year to reduce state spending. The state budget has a $900 million shortfall, and tax collections continue to drop.
The Muscogee County School District administration has not decided if it will furlough employees yet and they are looking at all options for reducing spending.
