Four Phenix City School Board members are among 239 board members statewide honored this month for advancing to a new level in the Alabama Association of School Boards Member Academy.
The education leaders were recognized for their efforts to improve their boardmanship skills, increase their understanding o9f education issues and heighten their leadership skills by participating in the academy.
The "school for school board members" was founded in 1986.
Phenix City School Board members named are Paul Stamp, Frankie Horace, Mark Benefield and Lori White.
Others from the area are Alane Duncan of Chambers County, Matthew Clegg of Auburn, Gail Holley of Lanett, Lee Patterson of Lee County, Joseph Williams of Russell County, Rufus Jordan of Russell County, Laura Cooper of Auburn and Mary Terry of Chambers County.
