Alabama Gov. Bob Riley and State School Superintendent Joseph Morton will be at the new Tarrant High School in Tarrant, Ala., today to celebrate a milestone for education in the state.
All public high schools in the state are now linked through ACCESS distance learning.
With this goal met, Alabama becomes the only state with this video conferencing and Web-based learning pool in all its public high schools.
ACCESS (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide) uses online and interactive video conferencing technology to link classrooms and offer coursework such as Advanced Placement classes and languages to students in schools where the courses may not be available.
