The Fuller Center for Housing, founded by Millard and Linda Fuller in 2005, is sponsoring The Millard Fuller Legacy Build starting Sunday.
The kickoff is 3:30 p.m. EDT at the Sportsplex in Valley, Ala. The location is 130 Sportsplex Drive, off Fob James Drive.
Former President Jimmy Carter will speak, as will Morris Dees, co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery. Dees and Millard Fuller were former business partners and law partners.
Six houses will be built next week in Lanett, Ala., and eight houses will be refurbished.
Millard Fuller died at age 74 last February.
Millard and Linda Fuller founded Habitat for Humanity in 1976 in Americus, which grew into a worldwide ministry to address substandard housing. They left Habitat in 2005 and founded The Fuller Center in Americus.
