A Columbus company has been awarded a $663,681 contract to start work on phase two of the Warm Springs Bike Trail.
The work is part of a $12.5 million project to build an 11-mile trail from 14th Street downtown to Psalmond Road. Columbus Council approved the contract Tuesday for Robinson Paving Co.
When all the work is completed next year, it will provide a 12-foot wide asphalt trail for walkers and bikers. Rest areas will be built along the way with water fountains, snack shops and small retail operations.
