Meritage Cafe, 1350 13th St., is holding its "Flavors of Summer" wine dinner. It begins at 7 p.m. It features a seven-course tasting menu with six paired wines, and costs $59 (excluding tax and gratuity). Only a limited number of seats remain.
The appetizer is Fresh Tomato and Goat Cheese Napoleon, followed by a summer squash gazpacho. The salad is Strawberry Spinach Salad with Pecans and Blue Cheese and Vidalia Onion Vinaigrette. The fish course is Seared Halibut with Sweet Corn, Tomato and Cucumber Relish.
The intermezzo is Watermelon Sorbet, followed by the meat course, which is Charcoal-Grilled Steak with Fresh Herb Butter, Served with Sweet Corn Risotto and Sauteed Butterbeans.
The dessert is Peach Creme Brulee.
