Organizing for America, a grassroots project of the Democratic National Committee will hold a rally today at 11:30 .m. outside of U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop's office to show support for President Barack Obama's health insurance reform legislation.
Georgia Rep. Caroline Hugley will speak at the event, which will take place at 18 19th Street in Columbus. There will be an opportunity following the rally for Bishop's constituents to drop off their signed health insurance reform declarations stating that they support the president's three principles for health insurance reform of lowering cost, protecting choice and providing access to quality, affordable care, according to a press release.
"Since the health care debate began, President Obama’s principles for health insurance reform have been simple and consistent -- reform will lower costs, protect choice and ensure all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care," the release said.
