Because today marks the beginning of "Library Card Sign-up Month," the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries are reminding people that kids with library cards do better in school, and adults with cards get discounts on food and other goods from Columbus shops, including:
-- A free drink with any food purchase at The Butler’s Pantry.
-- A free dessert of the day when eating at The RiverMill Café.
-- Ten percent off regular-priced merchandise at Jenie’s Bridals and Formals.
-- A free appetizer with any food purchased at Country’s Barbecue.
-- A 15-percent discount at The Columbus Museum Shop, with some exclusions.
-- A 10-percent discount from the Front Porch Gallery.
-- A 10-percent discount on food purchased from the Speakeasy on Mercury Drive or The Twelfth Street Deli downtown.
-- A 10-percent discount on food at the Old Siam Restaurant downtown.
Find out how to get a card at www.ChattahoocheeValleyLibraries.org. Go to “Using Your Library,” or visit one of the eight libraries in the valley system. For more information, call 706-243-2673.
