The Urban League of Greater Columbus will hold its 13th annual "Doing the Right Thing" celebration Sept. 26.
Seventh and eighth graders from Columbus, Cusseta, Hamilton, Phenix City and Seale, Ala., will be honored for their achievements.
Winners from the Urban League's essay contest, "What Doing the Right Thing Means to Me," will be announced and each will receive a $50 U.S. savings bond.
Motivational speakers and local talent will also be on hand.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center, 801 Front Avenue.
