The Rev. Scott A. Benhase has been elected 10th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia on the second ballot of the electing convention, held today in Dublin.
Benhase is Rector of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Washington D.C. He has also served parishes in North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana.
The Rt. Rev. Henry Louttit, the diocese's ninth bishop, is retiring.
The diocese does not include Columbus. It takes in Albany, Augusta and Savannah and all towns south.
