The Lee County Coroner has released the name of the Salem, Ala., woman who died Friday in a three-vehicle crash in Opelika.
A preliminary investigation by Opelika officers revealed Shanquetta Jana Sanks, 26, was traveling south on Interstate 85 in a maroon, four-door Mazda shortly before 11 a.m., CDT, when she crossed the median and struck a white, Ford F-550 truck.
After hitting the Ford, the Mazda was then struck by an 18-wheeler.
Opelika police responded to the accident on I-85, just north of Exit 58, at 11:06 a.m.

Authorities had to use the jaws of life to extracate Sanks from her crumpled vehicle, said Lee County Coroner Bill Harris.
Sanks was transported to East Alabama Medical Center and pronounced dead by emergency room physicians at 11:35 a.m. She died of massive internal and head injuries, Harris said.
The drivers of the other vehicles weren't injured.
