The Columbus chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is sponsoring its 14th annual Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes Oct. 3 at Rotary Park in Columbus.
The event starts at 9 a.m. Parking will be available in the South Commons parking lot near the Columbus Civic Center. There will be free shuttle buses to take walkers from the lot to the walk site.
The mission of juvenile diabetes research is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications. Organizers hope to raise $100,000 for research. Juvenile diabetes strikes children and young adults suddenly, makes them dependent on insulin for life and they face the threat of complications.
