Discount cards for prescription drugs will still be available at first stations in Columbus but will no longer feature the logo of the Columbus Consolidated Government.
The resolution was passed by unanimous vote at today's City Council meeting.
Currently a discount card sponsored by the National League of Cities and CVS Caremark may be found in the stations. The city logo is at the top.
The cards are aimed at the unisured or under insured.
Never miss a local story.
Columbus City Manager Isiah Hugley said that from now on display racks will be at the fire stations and that other companies that issue discount cards such as the United Way will be able to put their cards there.
David Lovett, owner of North Columbus Pharmacy, called it a "victory" for the local and independent pharmacies.
