Columbus Technical College is nearing an all-time enrollment high.
Though final figures for the fall quarter or not complete, the college has more than 4,000 students enrolled, according to a news release. There are 10 percent more students on campus this fall than last year.
“This is a healthy increase over last year and represents awareness on the part of students that skills are necessary to acquire and maintain a good job and to build a career,” President Bob Jones said in a prepared statement. “It is also a very manageable number for the college in terms of our ability to provide resources to these students at a time when state revenues are down and funding is being cut.”
Final enrollment figures will not be available until the end of the quarter. The highest enrollment figure for the college is 4,100.
