Columbus State University's Information and Technology Services department will host a series of events about cyber awareness today and Thursday on the main campus.
The department will run a informational security awareness booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the entrance of the Schwob Memorial Library, featuring poster contest entries, brochures, anti-virus CDs, giveaways, refreshments and cyber security videos.
There will also be presentations from experts from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday in the Davidson Student Center auditorium.
Presentations will include:• “Antivirus Protection” by Mike Gesnaldo, a McAfee representative from Atlanta • ”Phishing and Social Networking Sites” by Chris Carrow, an IT auditor for the University System of Georgia Thursday: • “Data Encryption and Backups” by Jody Lee, TSYS senior director of information security • “Internet Profiles” by Sue Dowling, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Internet safety coordinator
