Dr. Ira Byock, author and expert in palliative and end-of-life care, will visit Columbus Friday.
He will appear at the Columbus Public Library on Macon Road at 7 p.m. to talk about his new book, "The Four Things That Matter Most." Byock also wrote the book "Dying Well."
Byock's essays have appeared in the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, and his work has been featured on Nightline, All Things Considered and the New York Times Magazine.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Byock will sign books after the event.
