A Columbus woman told police her purse was snatched on the Riverwalk Tuesday afternoon.
The 20-year-old woman flagged down a Columbus police officer at the intersection of First Avenue and 18th Street and said she had been robbed earlier that day, according to a Columbus police report.
She told police she was walking on the Riverwalk when a unknown man came up and snatched her $300 brown Coach purse. She said she could not chase him because she was on her way to take her baby to a doctor's appointment.
She told police that the purse contained a wallet, valued at $50, $20 in cash, an ID card, hospital papers and the social security cards and paperwork for herself and her child.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s, standing about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He had short hair and was clean shaven and was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a red hat.
Police searched the area, but could not located the suspect.
