The Centers for Disease Control has informed states of a voluntary recall by manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur of several lots of the H1N1 vaccine.
The recall is not related to vaccine safety.
A total of 115 providers in Georgia received 43,630 affected doses via direct shipment.
Individuals who were vaccinated from this lot do not need to be re-vaccinated. While the antigen content of these lots is now below the specification for the product, CDC and the Federal Drug Administration are in agreement that the small decrease in antigen content is unlikely to result in a clinically significant reduction in immune response among persons who have received the vaccine.
