The Tom Joyner Foundation, a major driving force in raising scholarship money for historically black colleges and universities since 1998, has kicked off an aggressive fund raising campaign for Tuskegee University by naming it as "School of the Month" for January.
The foundation was formed by nationally syndicated radio personality and Tuskegee alumnus Tom Joyner.
As a school of the month, Tuskegee will receive scholarship funds raised by Joyner listeners and others during January. Joyner's show is aired in 115 markets across the country and reaches approximately 8 million listeners.
Tuskegee has a goal of $500,000 for this campaign.
