A Columbus man was arrested early Saturday on accusations he choked a woman in front of a child, police said.
Cordario Scott, 22, faces charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, criminal damage to property and third-degree cruelty to children, police reports state.
Officers were called to a 17th Street home around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, where they heard that a woman had been choked and struck by the suspect — actions witnessed by a child, police said. The suspect also kicked down a door and broke a number of appliances.
The suspect admitted to kicking down the door, though he added that the woman hit him in the eye and mouth, reports show.
