The Columbus Phenix City Auburn Club will host guest speaker Ronald Baynes, current National Football League Supervisor of Officials, on Wednesday, February 3 at the Chattahoochee River Club.
Open to the public, this event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature an address by Baynes who has been in his current position with the NFL since 2001. He was an on field official for the NFL from 1987 – 2000 when he was promoted to his current position. Baynes officiated two Super Bowls and officiated for AFC or NFC Championship Games.
Baynes will be discussing his experiences as an NFL Supervisor and his time officiating in the NFL. He will also be discussing his 12 years as a Southeastern Conference official prior to entering the NFL.
Baynes played football, basketball and baseball at Auburn University where he was coached by the legendary Ralph “Shug” Jordan. He was the recipient of many awards and honors for his athletic ability. He went on to be named head football coach at the age of 24 at Selma High School.
This event is open to the public, however the cost is $15 per person. Reservations must be made by January 29 and payments can be submitted by credit card at www.cpcauburnclub.com. Business Casual Attire is Required.
