A Columbus woman and her 3-year-old grandson were kidnapped at gunpoint Thursday morning, Columbus Police said in a report.
The 45-year-old victim was leaving the Family Dollar at 326 Farr Road about 8:40 a.m. when an unknown man approached and threatened her with a silver hand gun.
He told the woman to use her vehicle to drive him to a Saint Marys Road ATM machine where he intended to withdraw money from her account. The victim's grandson was at the time strapped into a child safety seat in the back seat of the woman's vehicle.
The suspect eventually let the two victims go. Both were unharmed and the older victim contacted police.

Through a photographic lineup, the woman identified the man who abducted her and her grandson as Marcus Wade, 20, of 4260 Sims Street, Columbus.
Wade was arrested and charged with criminal attempt armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of kidnapping and hijacking a motor vehicle.
