A three-month statewide investigation into the trade of child pornography netted two arrests in Franklin and Greenville, Ga., LaGrange police said.
Eighty-eight search warrants were executed across the state in connection with Operation Restore Hope — an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. LaGrange and Columbus police helped in the operation, which netted the arrests of Talmadge Smith, 25, of Franklin, Ga., and Harold Jim Baker, 65, of Greenville, Ga., police said.
Smith was arrested Tuesday by Franklin police after his home was searched, reports state. Baker was arrested Dec. 7 by the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office. Both arrests stem from an investigation begun by LaGrange police.
Both men faces charges of possession of child pornography, police said.
