A Columbus man injured in a Tuesday night home invasion was arrested that night on a marijuana charge, police said.
Kevin Sanders, 29, was at the home of a 24-year-old woman around 8 p.m. when three men burst into the Booker T. Washington apartment, reports state.
One of the suspects, armed with a shotgun, used the weapon to hit Sanders. They then robbed him of his computer, police said. The woman wasn’t hurt during the home invasion.
An 18-year-old Cataula, Ga. man, who was at Veterans and Fifth Street at the time, was shot by the same suspects after they left the apartment, reports show. He was admitted to The Medical Center for observation.
Police report that $172 worth of marijuana was packaged in 20 small plastic bags in the apartment. Sanders was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a housing project, police said.
