Columbus police are investigating Samuel Allen Lamberson’s Monday morning disappearance as a kidnapping.
The 46-year-old business owner was reported missing when he didn’t show up at Steelmaster Ornamental Iron Co. on Hamilton Road, police said. Today, Sgt. Frank Massa said Lamberson was kidnapped and taken to Eufaula, Ala., where he was released. Massa said Lamberson told police that two men abducted him, though a third got into the vehicle at some point.
“They came up behind him and put a bag over his head,” the sergeant said. “He’s doing fine. No injuries that we can tell.”
Lamberson’s vehicle, a white 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, is still missing.
Lamberson caught two rides to a relative’s home in Fort Mitchell, Ala., though he had to walk part of the way, Massa said. He contacted family members Monday evening.
