The voting rounds of "American Idol" kick off tonight when season nine's top 12 women take the stage 8-10 p.m. on Fox.
This week's theme? The online rumor mill says it's Top 10s from Billboard's Hot 100 chart. But BuddyTV suggests there could be a twist, limiting contestants to songs from the years 1958-1972 and 2004-2010.
If that's true, it would put some of the most annoying songs in "Idol" history -- "Against All Odds," anyone? -- out of the running.
Among tonight's likely front-runners: teenager Katie Stevens, acoustic songstress Didi Benami and the highly talked-about Ashley Rodriguez.
Never miss a local story.
Other female contestants weren't as fortunate with screen time during the audition phase and need to build a fan base quickly. We're talking to you, Paige Miles.
The top 12 men perform Wednesday. Four contestants will be eliminated Thursday.
