A toddler who sustained burns in a Columbus house fire Friday has died.
Michael Duvard Jr., 1, died Saturday at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga. He was just three days short of his second birthday.
Muscogee County Coroner Bill Thrower said Duvard died of complications from injuries sustained in the fire. He was pronounced dead at 12:32 p.m.
The Columbus toddler was one of nine children at a Mill Branch Road home that was found engulfed in flames Friday afternoon. City firefighters responded shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Besides the children, there were two adults in the house, which witnesses at the scene Friday said was used as a day care center. Four of the kids were injured and transported for treatment. Three of them — including Duvard — were flown to the Augusta burn center.
Fire officials said Saturday the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
