Federal authorities are interested in the case of a Columbus man arrested Friday on accusations he paid underage girls for sexual acts, police said.
Officers began examining a complaint about online prostitution about two weeks ago, said Columbus Police Sgt. Bill Gasaway. That led them to John Przenkop, 43, who faces accusations he paid girls for sexual acts, the sergeant added.
“In looking into this, we found the defendant was meeting teenage girls, meeting them on these Web sites and paying them for sexual acts,” the sergeant said. “He was a person of interest right off.”
According to Przenkop’s arrest report, he’s accused of soliciting and performing “immoral and indecent acts” with two children younger than 16. He’s also accused of having a video of himself and two children.
“The child pornography part came when we searched his house and we found child pornography there,” Gasaway said.
The sergeant has already spoken with local agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the case.
“They seem interested,” he said. “We’ll get together and go over what we have and see if they want to open a case on it. We know of at least two girls out there.”
Przenkop is charged with two counts each of aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, pandering and child pornography. Przenkop’s Columbus Recorder’s Court hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday.
