Police are looking for a man who allegedly struck a Columbus woman with a broom handle.
Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, an officer was sent to The Medical Center to meet with the 44-year-old victim. She said around 10 p.m. Wednesday, she was drinking and talking with a friend in front of her mobile home in the 2600 block of Cusseta Road.
That’s when a man known as “JJ” approached the two, cursed at them and accused them of “stealing his dope”, according to a police report. The victim told police the man hit her twice on the right shoulder with a broom handle then fled on foot toward Cusseta Road.
The woman sustained bruises to her shoulder and was in good condition Friday at the hospital, police said.

The suspect was described as black, 47 or 48 years old, weighing about 160 pounds and standing 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall. He had a low haircut.
