Families waiting for the arrival of more than 150 soldiers with the 60th Engineer Company redeploying to Fort Benning after a year-long tour to Afghanistan will have to wait just a little longer to embrace their loved ones.
The redeployment schedule has been pushed to Wednesday morning.
The 60th Engineers have been deployed since April, 2009. This was the unit’s third deployment to Southwest Asia.
A construction unit, the soldiers of the 60th are capable of putting up large structures and providing heavy equipment support for U.S. and coalition forces.

Vertical construction projects can range from building new command centers and barracks spaces to renovating living and working areas to providing better living and working conditions for deployed Soldiers.
Horizontal construction projects include building roads and runways.
The 60th is an element of the 11th Engineer Battalion.
