The MTV reality series "16 and Pregnant" wrapped up its second season Tuesday night. After the season's final episode, the 10 teenagers participated in a "Life After Labor" reunion show with Dr. Drew.
Read these updates on their lives, then weigh in: Do you think "16 and Pregnant" is effective in curbing teen pregnancies?
Jenelle: Andrew, the father of her child, didn't attend the reunion show. In his place: Jenelle's mom. The pair argued a lot during her "16 and Pregnant" episode. They've been getting along, but there's still some tension -- especially regarding Jenelle's mom's perception of her parenting skills. "I just wish she'd kind of step up more," Jenelle's mom said. Jenelle said her mom couldn't name three good things about her and doesn't say she loves her. Deep down, the pair seems to appreciate each other. Dr. Drew's verdict: "I believe you're going to get through this."
Kailyn: Kailyn and her boyfriend, Jo, recently got engaged. They both appeared at the reunion show. Kailyn has ended her relationship with her mom, who was living in a hotel with a boyfriend during Kailyn's "16 and Pregnant" episode. Kailyn is grateful for the support she's received from Jo and his family. "I won't be going anywhere any time soon," Jo said. Yikes. Jo apparently works 5 a.m.-7 p.m. now. Kailyn also talked about meeting her biological father during her episode, an encounter that wasn't as successful as she planned. It seems like their relationship, or lack thereof, hasn't changed. Dr. Drew's verdict: "You're so lucky to have Jo and Jo's mom in your life."
Never miss a local story.
Samantha: When Dr. Drew asked how she plans to help her daughter break the family cycle of teen pregnancy, Samantha said, "I'm going to be a little strict on her and have rules for her." Her advice? "Get a job, get a house and then think about kids." A major story line on her episode was the fight between Samantha's parents and the parents of Eric, the father of her child. The families made up, but haven't seen each other face-to-face since the hospital when Samantha gave birth. Samantha is staying at Eric's house and her mom doesn't visit her -- but Samantha visits her mom.
Leah: She's the one who broke up with her three-year boyfriend (Robbie), and then got pregnant by a guy (Corey) she'd been dating for a month. Then, Leah destroyed the relationship with Corey by crushing on Robbie. Corey appeared at the reunion show. He said he doesn't trust Leah at all. Leah's feelings about Corey? "I never felt someone that loved me as much as you loved me." Leah said she'd love to get back together. Corey's response: "I've got to get the trust back before I can take another step toward that."
Chelsea: Her dad joined her at the reunion show. She's the one whose boyfriend, Adam, was so abusive that she legally changed their daughter's last name to her own. Chelsea said they broke up and got together plenty of times after that. Adam has minimal contact with the baby. His family requests to see her. Chelsea said she and Adam -- who called their baby a mistake -- are done for good. Does her dad buy it? "I've heard it a lot of times and this time I believe it," he said. He's not fearful she'll drift back. Chelsea attends an alternative school. Her dad's advice: "Don't go looking for a man. It's the worst thing you can do." Chelsea would like a boyfriend, but she's not searching.
Nikkole: Josh, the father of her child, still treats her badly. Josh and Nikkole's mom, Rikki, still hate each other. They all showed up for the reunion show. Rikki thinks Josh uses Nikki for a ride, money and more. Rikki thinks Nikkole still has a physical relationship with Josh. "I definitely don't want him in my daughter's life no more," she said. Will Rikki and Josh ever get along? "I think the damage is done," Rikki said. Dr. Drew wrapped things up by asking Josh if he'll continue to support Nikkole and the couple's child, Lyle. His answer: Yes -- well, at least Lyle.
Valerie: She sees Matt, the father of her child, a lot more often. He had taken an out-of-town job, but it didn't work out. Valerie, who's adopted, has a fear of being abandoned. Matt appeared at the reunion show and promised he won't leave her. However, things between them looked pretty tense. It appears they're still together, though.
Lizzie: On her episode, she got engaged to Skylar, the father of her child, but learned he'd cheated on her. They both appeared at the reunion show. She said she's forgiven him. Dr. Drew, always the downer, responded, "I still see you as angry." Lizzie said, "I'm just angry that I didn't know about it for so long." She now wants two kids instead of four. But don't worry, Lizzie and Skylar are using contraception, so baby No. 2 won't be coming along soon.
Lori: She doesn't regret giving her baby up for adoption, and sees the baby pretty frequently. Lori's mom appeared at the reunion show and addressed claims she pressured Lori too much to put the baby up for adoption. She said, "I want everyone to realize the decision was ultimately Lori's." Cory, the father of the baby, also showed up for the reunion show. He was initially critical of the decision to opt for adoption. And now? "I'm coming to terms with it," he said. Lori is still in love with Cory. Dr. Drew asks Cory if Lori should give up her feelings for him. His answer: "I would say yes."
Nicole: She's the one whose sister and father died. How are she and Tyler going to support their baby? Nicole's in school and Tyler's working. No school for him, though -- he got expelled. He said he got in with a wrong group of friends. Still, Nicole called Tyler an excellent dad. Tyler's grandma and Nicole's mom help them out. Then, just as their reunion segment wrapped up, Tyler proposed to Nicole. "I want you to be my girl and I want you to be with me forever," he said. They want six kids. Wait, don't freak out. They initially wanted eight.
