Is it just me, or is serial killer Eddie the scariest villain to ever hit Fairview?
Sunday's episode of "Desperate Housewives" offered a closer glimpse into the life of Eddie, this season's recently revealed serial killer.
Turns out Eddie's dad left when he was young, leading young Eddie to live alone with his alcoholic mom. He pursued friendships with a variety of Wisteria Lane residents, but through flashbacks we learned those interactions only heightened his instability.
As a child, he bonded with Gaby, only to be told he needed to back off on the friendship. How did he take the news? Well, he shot a small animal.
When Eddie grew up, he got romance advice from Bree -- but then she learned her hot daughter was the object of his affection. Needless to say, it was unrequited love. Bree promised Eddie he'd find someone who'd love him.
That person was a prostitute. When Eddie presented her with flowers prior to their encounter, she laughed. And got killed.
It wasn't Eddie's only encounter with one-sided feelings. He developed an obsession with Susan following her divorce from Mike. Then, Susan informed him they'd gotten back together. In desperation, Eddie said she could always marry him instead.
Susan laughed. And later, her daughter Julie got strangled.
Sunday's episode ended with Eddie's alcoholic mother learning of his serial killer tendencies. She called him a mistake. And naturally, he killed her.
What do you do after killing your mom? Fortunately, unknowing Wisteria Lane resident Lynette Scavo was at door moments after the incident, inviting Eddie to come live with her family.
He gladly accepted and sighed while noting how his mom was drunk and passed out near the couch.
Weigh in, readers: Who will Eddie kill next? Who do you wish Eddie will kill next? And how does the serial killer story line compare to mysteries from past seasons?
