A number of state House incumbents qualified for office today.
Kip Smith, 27, District 129; Calvin Smyre, 62; District 132, and Carolyn F. Hugley, 51, District 133, qualified for re-election today.
Others who have qualified today for various offices include:
Democratic Rep. Sanford Bishop, 63, qualified for his District 2 Congressional seat. Lee Ferrell, 58, of Albany, Ga., qualified as a Republican for the District 2 Congressional seat.
Ed Harbison, 68, of Columbus, who is running for re-election to his state Senate District 15 seat.
Josh McKoon, 31, qualified as a Republican for the state Senate 29 seat. Seth Harp, 67, who currently holds the seat, qualified for insurance commissioner as a Republican.
Harp is opposed by Republican Rick Collum, 40, a Moultrie, Ga., attorney, who also qualified this morning.
Robert “Frank” Saunders, 43, of Midland, Ga., qualified as a Democrat for the District 3 Congressional seat currently held by Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland.
The primary election is July 20. The general election is Nov. 2.
