Dating models Brent and Caite got first place in the May 2 episode of the Amazing Race.
Detectives Louie and Michael were last place and were eliminated.
The remaining four teams stayed in Shanghai, China, for the 11th leg of the race. Their first task was to find Garden Bridge in the city — a difficult feat, because locals know it by its Chinese name.
Brent and Caite lucked upon someone with an iPhone, who gave them directions. They got to the bridge first, and headed off to their next stop: Longhua Temple, where there was a Roadblock.
Problem was, they couldn’t use a taxi to get there. That led the dating models to hop on a bus, and they remained in first place.
A member of each team had to count the number of gold statues in one portion of the temple. Caite had already tried a few times when cowboys Jet and Cord arrived and got the right number, 523, the first time. Caite then got it as well and both teams took motorcycles to Yuyuan Garden, where the teams got their detour — pork chops or pork dumplings.
In pork chops, the teams had to hunt down small stone stamps with a pig symbol and their name on the bottom before they got their next clue. In pork dumplings, the teams had to deliver 10 orders of food throughout the area. All teams chose to find the stamps.
The models and cowboys found their pairs of stamps at the same time and both raced to the Riverside Promenade — the leg’s pit stop. The models made it to the finish line first, and got a trip for two to the coasts of Spain.
The cowboys came in second.
Meanwhile, brothers Dan and Jordan couldn’t find the Garden Bridge and chose to backtrack to detectives Louie and Michael. The brothers thought they could tag along and then jump ahead when the detectives were forced into a speed bump for getting last place in the previous leg.
It almost worked. Both teams made it to Longhua Temple at the same time, where the detectives were forced to each throw a coin into the topmost window of a massive incense burner while the brothers got head start at counting the statues.
Ultimately, the head start didn’t help. Both of the remaining teams made it to pork chops within 30 minutes. The brothers found their stamps before the detectives did, but both teams made it to the promenade and were running for the finish line as the hour show ticked down to the end.The brothers got third place.
The final leg of the race is scheduled to bring the final three teams to San Francisco.
