The 27th annual Lt. Gen. David E. Grange Best Ranger Competition will kick-off Friday on Fort Benning, but we're going to give you a chance to meet the competitors sooner than that.
Today is media day at Ranger Training Brigade headquarters and the Ledger-Enquirer will be there talking to the soldiers, taking team pictures and learning all that we can about the grueling, three-day competition, which pits warrior against warrior in an effort to identify the best two-man Ranger team in the military.
Some events will mirror those conducted in years' past such as the Darby Queen obstacle course, the water confidence course, the heliocast and swim and day stakes. Land navigation, road marches, weapons assembly, shooting and running will most definitely be a part of the approximately 60-hour event. Sleeping will not be.
Please return to Ledger-Enquirer.com tomorrow or pick up tomorrow's Ledger-Enquirer for more on the 2010 Best Ranger Competition.
