Columbus Lions receiver Tirone Morris and kicker Trey Crum have been honored as SIFL players of the week.
Morris tied an SIFL record with 11 receptions during the Lions' 60-39 victory over the Greenville Force on Friday, picking up 151 receiving yards and scoring four touchdowns to earn the title of SIFL Offensive Player of the Week.
Crum was named the SIFL Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this season after going 5-for-7 on point-after attempts, 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and hitting two unos Friday. He leads all SIFL kickers in points with 69 and unos with 11.
Lafayette Wildcatters defensive back Clarence Pendelton was named SIFL Defensive Player of the Week for his five-tackle, three-interception performance in a Lafayette victory over the Louisiana Swashbucklers on Saturday. His third interception of the game came with less than five minutes to play and helped Lafayette earn its first victory of the season.
