I was feeling so festive Wednesday night that I almost forgave Lady Gaga for bearing an uncanny musical resemblance to Ace of Base.
In a pre-taped segment, Lady Gaga performed "Alejandro" on Wednesday's "American Idol" results show. The performance began with a slow version of "Bad Romance" on the piano. Then, Lady Gaga picked up the pace and sang "Alejandro" while accompanied by fog, fire-releasing angel statues and men in really tight shorts.
Let's not forget to mention Gaga's getup, which included minimal fabric on top and I'm pretty sure only a thong on the bottom.
Never miss a local story.
Funny, I celebrated Cinco de Mayo the same way.
As much as I wanted to like "Alejandro," I didn't go crazy over the song. Maybe it was "Idol" fatigue, but my plate of room-temperature fajitas seemed to exude more Latin flair than Gaga's performance.
Shortly after the show, I learned something was missing after all. Gaga tweeted, "Fox chopped up my performance in 4 places."
