During Troy University's Phenix City campus commencement ceremony John Kline, the university's Institute for Leadership Development director, stressed the importance of servant leadership.
"Great leaders serve others because they know that is the best way to help others and help the organization," Kine said, according to a press release issued by the school Monday.
Kline, who delivered the keynote at the graduation ceremony Friday, spoke at the Columbus Civic Center before more than 200 Phenix City grads. He joined Troy in 2000 as an education professor and later became director of Institute for Leadership Development.
He urged graduates to stay the course during difficult times and set goals for the future.
"I know you have goals and it is important to set those goals," he said. "Set goals high enough that you have something to aim for."
