A lone gunman robbed the Phenix Pride Federal Credit Union Monday afternoon, police said.
The suspect entered the credit union at 1818 Opelika Road around 4:10 p.m. He showed an employee a pistol and demanded money, Phenix City Police Capt. Frank Ivey said.
“He conversed directly with the teller,” Ivey said.
The suspect was given cash before he left the business in a Mitsubishi pickup truck. No tag information was obtained, the captain said.
No one was hurt and no shots were fired, Ivey added.
The suspect is a black man, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds with a medium complexion. He had a slight goatee, Ivey said.
