Credit-card processor TSYS said today the biggest card issuer in Canada has renewed its contract with the Columbus-based firm.
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) signed the multi-year deal with TSYS to handle processing of its consumer credit cards. TSYS said it now processes more than 44 percent of all Visa and MasterCard accounts in Canada.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Both CIBC and TSYS recognize the level of customer service and innovation that are needed to succeed in today’s environment, and are committed to continuing our strong relationship as we lead the Canadian credit card market together,” Troy woods, TSYS president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.
TSYS is a major Columbus employer, with about 4,100 on its local payroll. The company employs about 7,400 globally.
