Shirley Sherrod was in Columbus Monday to support the campaign of U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop.
"We can't let him go," she told a group of approximately 100 supporters at the Columbus Government Center.
Sherrod has been in the new slately. She was forced to resign from her job as Georgia State Director of Rural Development after a video clip posted by a blogger made it appear she'd made racist remarks at a meeting.
After a review of the entire video, the government apologized to her and offered her a new job. She hasn't accepted yet.
