Columbus police made the second online prostitution bust in as many weeks on Tuesday, reports state.
Candita Elise Ortiz, 27, of South Bend, Ind., faces charges of prostitution and solicitation of sodomy, police said.
According to her arrest report, an officer contacted the suspect after seeing an Internet ad. The suspect agreed to meet the officer at the Days Inn, 3452 Macon Road, in Room 517.
The officer went to the hotel around 5 p.m. and met the suspect inside the room, where she agreed to have sex and engage in sex acts for $200. Once the deal was made, officers who were monitoring the conversation entered the room and arrested the suspect, police said.
The last woman arrested in Columbus in an online prostitution bust was Teri Rigley, 38, also of South Bend, Ind. Rigley was arrested July 25 at the La Quinta Inn, 3201 Macon Road, and has since made bond.
Ortiz’s Columbus Recorder’s Court hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday.
