A Columbus woman was robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning, according to police.
The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m. at a gas station in 2300 block of South Lumpkin Road. The 69-year-old woman worked as a clerk at the station and had arrived to open the store for the day when a man with a gun approached her.
She told police he knocked her down and pointed the gun at her. The woman had some swelling to her left arm as a result of the altercation.
The suspect was described as a man in his 20s, with a short and stocky build, wearing all black and a camouflage hat. He was armed with a black handgun.
The case remains under investigation.
