A disabled Columbus man was robbed of his cell phone while leaving a friend’s home Friday, police said.
The 22-year old man told police that around 8:30 p.m., he was leaving a friend’s home within the Park Crest Mobile Home Park on Farr Road when two teenagers jumped him, said Columbus Police Lt. Lynn Joiner.
The man, who was kicked and punched, sustained scratches on his right arm, according to a police report. The two robbers ran off with his $300 cell phone.
The victim said he had seen the two teens in the mobile home park before, but did not know who they were, Joiner said. He described them both as light-skinned black teens, either 17 or 18 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Both wore blue jeans and no shirts.
The description was broadcast over police radio around 10 p.m. but officers were unable to find them.
