Troup High School alumnus and former head football coach Bubba Jeter was at Troup’s pre-season scrimmage Friday night, but for the first time in a long time he wasn’t coaching the Tigers.
Jeter, who left Troup High last spring, is currently an assistant coach at Northgate High School in Coweta County. His new team faced off against this year’s Troup High team Friday night.
Before Friday’s game started, Troup principal Michael Lehr recognized Jeter for his many years of work on the school’s football team with a distinguished service award.
During his career at Troup High, Jeter served twice as defensive coordinator, three times as offensive coordinator and many seasons as head coach. As a Troup student and coach, he participated in 28 seasons and 304 football games.
