Columbus police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday morning in East Highland.
Sgt. Art Sheldon said officers responded to a call of shots fired near 15th Avenue and 25th Street at around 3:40 a.m. The officers found blood and trailed it to a house on 25th Street.
Inside the house, they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left calf. Sheldon said . The man told police he was walking down the road when he heard the shots and ran home. He told police he did not realize he had been shot until he got inside the house.
The man was taken to The Medical Center for treatment.
