A 17-year-old boy was robbed and beaten by two men with a steel baton late Thursday night, according to a Columbus police report.
Officers responded to the call at The Medical Center, where the boy was being treated for his injuries. According to the report, the incident occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. near the intersection of Clay Drive and Plateau Drive.
The boy told police two men punched, kicked and beat him with a steel baton and took his cellphone and $30 in cash. The boy suffered bruising to his back, head, legs, arms and groin.
One suspect was described as a man between 25 and 30 years old, wearing a white T-shirt and khakis. The other suspect was described as a man between 30 and 35 years old, wearing a gray shirt and jeans.
The case remains under investigation.
