Two horses stolen from a Harris County farm earlier this week have been recovered.
Harris County Sheriff's investigator Glenn Presley said Limestone County Sheriff's officers found the two horses, the stolen trailer and some of the stolen tack in Athens, Ala.
The horses, the trailer and several thousand dollars worth of equipment were stolen Sunday from Begin Again Farms in Ellerslie, Ga.
Limestone County Sheriff's officers arrested two suspects in connection with the incident -- Sara Mitchell, 21, and an 18-year-old boy. Both were arrested in Madison, Ala. and will face several charges once they are extradited to Harris County, including felony theft and felony livestock theft.
Presley said the arrests were made after the owners of the farm sent out an email to other horse-owners about the incident. A witness came forward that led investigators to Athens.
He said Limestone County Sheriff's officers found the trailer was abandoned in Athens with the horses still inside, suffering from dehydration. Some of the tack and the saddles are still missing, he said.
Investigators believe the two suspects are responsible for similar thefts in the area.
