A Phenix City woman was charged with perjury at a Friday Columbus Recorder’s Court hearing.
Shakita S. Chambers, 21, was arrested around 8:35 a.m. at the 702 10th St. court, reports state. According to police, Chambers is accused of lying about an incident involving her boyfriend on Aug. 6.
On that date, Chambers said her boyfriend slapped her and punched her in the face several times. She also told officers that she begged to be let out of a vehicle for hours, reports state.
On Friday, Chambers stated that she never made those claims, police said.
